February Index Increase
February trade volume started out slow, and picked up over the course of the month. The average new car dealer-to-dealer trade price rose for the second straight month of 2022 to $4,996 per unit, over invoice, based on 331 trades throughout the month of February.
87% of the traded units that made up this index were Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & RAM and General Motors models.
This was a 0.9% increase over the previous month’s trade index price despite a 1.4% increase in floored inventory, which is still hovering at just under one million units on the ground nationally.
