The average new car dealer-to-dealer trade price dropped significantly to $97 per unit, over invoice, based on 640 traded units throughout the month of January.

69% of the traded units that made up this index were Chevy, Hyundai, Jeep, Toyota, and GMC models.

This was a -89% decrease from the previous month’s trade index price despite national inventory levels remaining relatively constant into 2023.

Cadillac selling dealers commanded the highest prices on very low volume, increasing the average price they received by 114% month over month. While Chevy selling dealers received -69% less in January than they did just one month earlier in December 2022.
